Photography Workshops
Join Jason Friend on a landscape photography workshop and explore your photography in the picturesque scenery of the north of England.
Jason is an award-winning landscape photographer based along the North Tyneside Coast. His landscape photography images have appeared in a number of publications including The Telegraph, Australian Geographic and BBC Wildlife Magazine. However, Jason is not just an acclaimed landscape photographer but also the author of ten books and numerous articles, which he has completed over a decade of working as a professional landscape photographer.
The locations for the group photography workshops were chose for the photographic opportunities available in a relative small distance. This means that the workshops are suitable for people of all ages and level of fitness.
The size of the group for every workshop is limited to only eight participants meaning that everyone will have a chance for some ‘one on one’ time with Jason. A typical day will last for 6 hours whilst the flexible approach of the day will ensure that the workshops are suitable for all levels of photographic experience. Click here to find out more.
Photography Master Classes
Our photography master classes are designed to help you master certain photography techniques and subjects whilst learning photography in some of the finest locations to be found in Northumberland. Limited to a group size of only three participants to ensure that there is plenty of ’1 on 1′ time with Jason for every workshop attendee, these special workshops differ from the normal group photography workshop schedule because they exclusively cover a certain subject such as macro photography or monochrome landscapes, and the photographic skills required to get the most from these subjects.
Based around a six hour day, the photography master classes will take you from the basic techniques through to more advanced approaches towards the subject. Specialist equipment will be available to use, ideal if you wondering what equipment would benefit your style of photography, and course notes will be available to compliment the techniques which will be covered in the practical lesson.
In addition to the workshop, Jason will also review a portfolio of your favourite images from the master class and offer constructive feedback to help your further understand the subject. Click here to find out more.
Dawn & Dusk Workshops
With a view of helping you create outstanding images of some of the most iconic landmarks to be found in the North-East of England, the ‘Dawn & Dusk’ workshops allow you to join an award-winning photographer on an extensive two hour workshop during the ‘golden hours’ of natural light.
Depending on the actual location, each workshop will begin either one hour before sunrise or one hour before sunset. The locations have been chosen for their accessibility allowing us plenty of time ‘on location’ to capture images during the finest hours available for landscape, seascape and city photography.
The group size is limited to only six people which will ensure that Jason will be on hand to offer plenty of advice and ’1 and 1′ tuition when required. During the workshop the composition of images will be discussed in addition to the technical requirements for successful outdoors photography such as the use of filters, the benefits of using a tripod and essential focusing techniques. Private Photography Tuition
Join Jason Friend on a ‘one-on-one’ (or ‘one-on-two’ should you wish to share the workshop with a friend) photography workshop in the picturesque North of England and the Scottish Borders. Learn new skills and develop your compositional eye under the guidance of an award winning landscape photographer. Private tuition is a great way to kick-start your photography hobby or fine tune your skills before you take the plunge to turn your hobby into the dream job.
Private photography tuition is a flexible approach to learning and exploring your photography. Based around a four, six or eight hour day, you can actually choose the locations that you want to visit and photograph or leave the decision making to Jason, and let him offer you private tuition in some of the best scenery to be found in the counties of County Durham, Cumbria, Northumberland, North Yorkshire, Scottish Borders and Tyne & Wear. City or rural, coast or uplands – You decide!
A one day private tuition session with Jason Friend costs from just £55 for a two hour session. Four hour workshops are priced at £100, Six hour workshops are £150 and eight hour workshops cost £200. That includes all travel to the locations visited during the workshop. Whatever the duration, the session can be tailor made to accommodate all levels of experience and will appeal to both beginning and experienced photographers.
