Who is Jason Friend?

Jason Friend is an award winning, freelance photographer and writer based in Newcastle Upon Tyne, England. Whenever he is not braving the British weather to capture evocative images of the Scottish Borders, Cumbria, Yorkshire or Northumberland, he escapes to some of the worlds most exotic overseas destinations in search of the perfect travel image.

A self confessed lover of travel, his overseas forays have taken him to over 30 countries in the continents of North America, South America, Asia, Australasia, Europe and Africa. These trips have led to his images and text being featured in a number of worldwide magazines and books. In addition, Jason is also the author of several books including Photographing Wilderness, The Cumbria Way and Portrait of the Borders.

Jason Friend Photography Ltd was formed in the U.K. by Jason to promote both his own images and also the work of other outstanding photographers via the online image library. The company also undertakes commissions for commercial photography and hosts a range of photography workshops.

Hadrian's Wall Photography Workshop

Why not join Jason Friend this friday, along a spectacular stretch of Hadrian's Wall within the Northumberland National Park. As a regular visitor to the region, Jason will be sharing some of his favourite viewpoints of this famous world heritage site as well as his experience of how to make successful images from the location.

We will meet at the Steel Rigg Car Park near Haltwhistle at noon, from where we will spend until 6.00 PM hiking along and photographing the roman wall and its surroundings.
