Newcastle upon Tyne Quayside & Jesmond Dene Photography Workshop

Join Jason Friend on a unique workshop exploring the natural delights of the Jesmond Dene in autumn and the impressive constructions of the Newcastle upon Tyne quayside.

The workshop will begin at 12 noon when we meet at the popular Jesmond Dene, a stretch of woodland in the city set along the banks of the Ouseburn. During the autumn months the dene is a riot of colour and will provide us with numerous opportunities to capture autumnal images.

After a few hours exploring the dene, we will be transferred to the city centre and the ever photogenic Newcastle upon Tyne quayside, where we will explore the numerous bridges spanning the river Tyne. The workshop will end at 6PM.

This workshop will give you the opportunity to practice your landscape and architectural photography within the city of Newcastle upon Tyne. The composition of images will be discussed in addition to the technical requirements for successful landscape and architectural photography such as the use of filters, the benefits and disadvantages of using a tripod and essential focusing techniques.
