Whitby and Saltwick Nab Photography Workshop

New workshop for 2010! Join Jason Friend along a stretch of the North Yorkshire Coast and the picturesque seaside harbour town of Whitby.

The workshop will begin at 12 noon when we meet at the bandstand at the foot of the North Pier, from where we will continue along the pier to photograph a number of coastal and architectural subjects.

After a brief break for lunch (please bring your own packed lunch) we will cross the river and head south along the spectacular cliffs of the North Yorkshire Coast towards Saltwick Nab, capturing a number of images en route. Once at Saltwick Nab, a popular location for coastal and landscape photography, we will further explore the geology and photographic highlights to be found in this spectacular bay. The workshop will end at 6PM.

This workshop will give you the opportunity to practice your landscape, coastal and architectural photography along the North Yorkshire Coast. The composition of images will be discussed in addition to the technical requirements for successful landscape, coastal and architectural photography such as the use of filters, the benefits and disadvantages of using a tripod and essential focusing techniques.

Important Information

The workshop fee does not include your transport to the meeting place, car parking, insurance or photographic equipment/materials. The fee does include travel from Saltwick Nab to Whitby.
