This weeks #throwbackthursday shot is yet another one from the north of the border but only just!

This image was captured 10 years ago with my first ever full-frame DSLR (the excellent Canon 5d) whilst exploring the Pennine Way near Kirk Yetholm. I had actually been following the Pennine Way along the border when a mist suddenly appeared and then quickly developed into thick fog – almost like someone above had turned off the lights! I quickly scouted down the hills to the low-level alternative Pennine Way route (I now know why they have a low level alternative route) and was greeted with this scene. This was probably the first ever landscape shot that I captured handheld thanks to the wonders of lens image stabilisation.
