Photography Master Class Workshop Overview

Join Jason Friend on a master class photography workshop, concentrating on the artistic medium of black and white landscape photography and the techniques and skills required to create the perfect monochrome landscape image.

The master class is based in the picturesque Northumberland Coast near the village of Craster and the enigmatic ruins of Dunstanburgh Castle, making it the perfect location to discuss and explore your black and white seascape and coastal photography amidst the fine landscape of the Northumberland Coast.

The master class will begin with learning how to understand your camera and the choice of various in-camera settings before proceeding to explore the actual composition of black and white images and the required techniques to determine the optimum exposure for producing an outstanding black and white landscape photography image.

Once the key components of producing a black and white landscape photography image have been covered, there will be an opportunity for you to experiment with a number of other techniques including coastal detail shots and long exposures using a 10x f-stop neutral density filters.

The flexible approach of the 6 hour day and the small group size of only 3 participants will ensure that everyone will have plenty of one-on-one time with Jason.

In addition to the master class, every participant will receive a series of detailed notes highlighting the key information covered on the actual class. Futhermore, Jason will also review a portfolio of your favourite images from the master class and offer constructive feedback to help your further understand the subject.
