Join award-winning landscape photographer Jason Friend on a ‘one-on-one’ (or ‘one-on-two’ should you wish to share the workshop with a friend) private landscape photography workshop in the Lake District / Cumbria. Learn new skills and develop your compositional eye under the guidance of an award winning landscape photographer. Private tuition is a great way to kick-start your photography hobby or fine tune your skills before you take the plunge to turn your hobby into the dream job.

Private photography tuition is a flexible approach to learning and exploring your photography. Based around a four, six or eight hour day, you can actually choose the locations that you want to visit and photograph or leave the decision making to Jason, and let him offer you private tuition in some of the best scenery to be found in the counties of Cumbria (Lake District), Northumberland, North Yorkshire, Scottish Borders and Tyne & Wear. City or rural, coast or uplands – You decide!

Private landscape photography workshops run weekly throughout the year. Once we have received your booking with your selected date (please get in touch if your preferred date is more than 3 months ahead) we will contact you to arrange the location and times for your private photography tuition.

Lake District / Cumbria Landscape Photography Tuition

Cumbria is simply a landscape photographer’s paradise. Not only can it lay claim to the deepest and largest lakes as well as the highest peaks to be found in the country, it is also home to perhaps the most famous of all of the English National Parks – The Lake District.

However, there is much more than the Lake District National Park to explore here. The Howgills and the northern Pennines afford commanding views across the county to the visitor originating from the east, whilst the distant form of the fells and peaks, for any visitor heading from the north or south, offers a more subtle introduction to the region. The Irish Sea borders the west of the county with the nearest neighbours being the Isle of Man and Scotland, whose uplands can be viewed rising from across the peaceful Solway Firth.

Join professional landscape photographer, Jason Friend, in a landscape that he knows intimately. Having released two books on the region, Jason will be happy to suggest a number of locations that he discovered whilst compiling the images for The Spirit of Cumbria and The Cumbria Way books. Alternatively you can also choose your own location for the workshop. One thing for sure is that you will never run out of unvisited Cumbria locations to photograph!
