Photography Workshops in Northumberland

Small-Group Landscape Photography Workshops with Jason Friend & David Taylor

I run photography workshops in Northumberland in collaboration with fellow professional photographer David Taylor, offering relaxed, small-group one-day workshops in some of the most beautiful locations the county has to offer.

From the dramatic Northumberland coastline to the quieter, rugged heart of the county, our workshops are carefully planned around light, location, tide, and season โ€” giving you the best possible conditions to learn, shoot, and enjoy the experience.

All workshops are now hosted on a dedicated photography workshops website, making it easy to view dates, locations, and availability.

What to Expect from Our Workshops

Our workshops are deliberately kept small and friendly, allowing plenty of time for personal guidance, discussion, and hands-on learning.

Throughout the day, youโ€™ll be able to draw on our combined experience across a wide range of camera systems and photographic styles. Whether you want help understanding your camera, refining your technique, or developing a more thoughtful approach to composition and light, weโ€™re there to support you.

Weโ€™re just as happy talking about:

  • camera settings and technique
  • working with natural light
  • composition and visual balance
  • slowing down and shooting with intent

As we are helping you get comfortable with your equipment.

Suitable for All Experience Levels

Our Northumberland photography workshops are open to all levels, from complete beginners to more experienced photographers looking for fresh inspiration.

If youโ€™re just starting out, weโ€™ll help you build confidence and understanding without jargon or pressure.
If youโ€™re more experienced, the workshops offer space to refine your approach, challenge habits, and think more deeply about how you photograph the landscape.

Above all, the focus is on enjoying photography, learning at your own pace, and coming away with images โ€” and ideas โ€” youโ€™re proud of.
