Scotland, Edinburgh, The Dome. The Dome, a bar and restaurant situated in George Street was built on the site of the old Physicians Hall which was designed and built by James Craig who planned the New Town of Edinburgh. The foundation stone for the present building was laid in the June of 1844.

Assembly Rooms were traditionally gathering places open to members of all sexes from the higher social classes which between the 18th and 19th centuries was quite unusual with most venues only being open to upper class men.
