In this video I head out before sunrise for a quiet dawn shoot at Derwentwater, just outside Keswick in the Lake District. I was shooting with the Fujifilm GFX50R, a camera that really encourages a slower, more considered approach. Dawn at Derwentwater is always unpredictable, but that’s part of the appeal — subtle light, calm water, and plenty of time to simply observe before pressing the shutter.
This isn’t a tutorial or a gear review. It’s a quiet slice of landscape photography in one of my favourite locations, showing the process as it unfolds rather than just the final images. If you enjoy slow photography, early starts, and atmospheric landscapes, I hope this video resonates.
